Solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice a year when the earth’s axis is most inclined toward or away from the sun causing the sun’s apparent position in the sky to reach its northernmost or southernmost extreme. While many people speculate that Superman gets his power from the sun, one thing we do know is that the residents of the northern hemisphere will experience the sun in its lowest position and the first official day of winter. After several years of planning and a pilot program, the City of Toledo is ready to launch their new automated refuse and recycling collection system. Novi, MI — On November 19, 2009, the Michigan Recycling Coalition (MRC) held its annual legislative and policy workshop to discuss pending Michigan House and Senate bills aiming to reverse the State’s yard waste landfill ban. The workshop provided an overview of the proposed bill, electricity generation from methane gas collection technology and concluded with a panel discussion on the pros and cons of reintroducing yard waste in landfills in which our Principal JD Lindeberg participated.
