Aaron Burman, Project Engineer
Aaron brings to RRS a background in renewable energy and sustainable waste systems, specializing in new program cost estimation, securing quality equipment and services and ensuring efficient implementation. His AutoCAD and ARC GIS background facilitates route consolidation and commercial recycling expansion. Aaron uses his expertise in waste-related carbon emissions, municipal and university greenhouse gas inventories and high-diversion program implementation to give an edge to RRS facility design projects. Aaron holds a BS in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

Beth Coddington, Project Consultant
Beth provides customer and troubleshooting services as she works with waste haulers and other vendors to ensure operational integrity for our resource management clients. She handles data management for all regulated medical waste audits, autoclave operations, regulated medical waste compliance and waste handling best practices reporting. Beth also performs contract management and enforcement, including billing and solid waste, recycling and confidential documents service coordination. Beth holds a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University.

Anna Collinson, Project Consultant
Anna is the key to RRS’s daily municipal consulting service activities, serving as a principal liaison with essential communities determining client needs and specific project direction. Her experience in implementing, maintaining and developing recycling programs for local governments provides extensive knowledge of environmental policies, education and outreach initiatives and procedures. Anna specializes in long-term client projects involving community interface and multiple agency interaction. Anna holds a BS in Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Michigan.

Brennan Madden, Project Analyst
Brennan offers a background in renewable energy, industrial ecology and project management to RRS, specializing in life cycle analysis, life cycle design, integrated assessment, and biomass energy. He applies his university and international sustainability assessment expertise and diverse experience to give RRS a creative edge in program research, design and implementation. He attained an Industrial Ecology graduate certificate from the University of Michigan and holds a MS in Sustainable Systems from the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Michigan.

Kyle Metta, Project Analyst
Kyle has an extensive background in public policy, economics, and environmental impact studies. His analytical skills and experience with program development assist the RRS team in true cost analysis, nonmarket valuation, and business case modeling. Kyle has a history of working with municipalities on community visioning and capacity building as well as focus group facilitation. Kyle earned a BS in Environmental & Resource Economics from the University of New Hampshire.

Kerry Sandford, Senior Engineer
As a co-founder of RRS, Kerry has specialized in equipment design, specification, integration, installation and maintenance in both the solid waste and energy fields for over 25 years. He has been designing and specifying recycling facilities since 1981 and has contributed to the design and construction of more than 20 MRFs from Michigan to South Korea. His innovative designs and long-time experience make him a valuable addition to any project team. Kerry holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Russ Schifferly, CHMM, Hazardous Waste Program Manager
Russ provides customer on-site hospital consulting services to develop, implement, monitor and manage hazardous, non-hazardous, universal, pharmaceutical, and medical waste. He also coordinates waste collection, identifying, handling, monitoring, and waste audits, pollution prevention, recycling, and data evaluation for waste management improvements. Russ assists with client educational outreach and training regarding waste management to promote improvements and provides recommendations on Green Team sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance oversight. Russ received his masters degree from Wayne State University in hazardous waste management and bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University specializing in environmental science and policy.

Maeva Silveira, Project Assistant
Maeva’s communication, research, and writing skills assist our municipal and university clients as they focus on program assessments, waste/recycling analysis, and program implementation. Her strong presentation skills help communicate project goals, objectives, results and successes.  Maeva also assists in business case modeling and program development through project showcase development and marketing research. Maeva holds a BA in English and a MA in Urban and Regional Planning (specialization in Land Use & Environmental Planning, and Planning in Developing Countries), both from the University of Michigan.

Our Sales and Communications Staff

Brianne Haven, Sales and Communications Manager
Brianne has an extensive waste reduction background in the municipal, university and health care sectors. Her experience and knowledge covers every aspect of recycling and waste reduction by providing an optimal technical skill set for all solid waste planning, operations management, outreach and education as well as program design and implementation projects. Brianne additionally manages RRS’ sales and marketing team overseeing proposal development, conference planning and our general business development outreach.  Brianne holds a BS in Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Michigan.

Tina Colatruglio, Marketing Assistant
Tina assists RRS in day-to-day business development opportunities as well as marketing efforts, including creative writing and design on a variety of projects. Her skill in displaying project concepts and successes through communication mediums is beneficial to many of our projects. She also helps to develop our brand in social media marketing and public relations. Tina holds a BBA in Advertising, Marketing, and Management from Northwood University.

Mel Krieg, Marketing Administrator
Mel is the central coordinator for details surrounding conferences and trade shows attended by RRS and clients. Her effective communication and attention to detail are necessary skills for successful management of these details, including pre-conference organization and post-conference follow-up, as well as a variety of other communication tasks. She works closely with the business development team to provide support and insight on our marketing strategy. Mel holds a bachelors degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Our Administrative Staff

Elizabeth Hughes, Executive and Human Resources Administrator
Liz is responsible for the coordination and overall management of RRS office policies, procedures, operations and communications. She effectively carries a multitude of tasks for not only company officers and staff, but as the liaison between our project managers and clients. She also assists in Human Resources and Business Development. Liz holds a BA in Advertising and Public Relations from Grand Valley State University.

Monica Asis, Accountant
Monica performs the majority of RRS’s day-to-day financial tasks. She manages accounts payable and receivable as well as assisting the Chief Financial Officer in cashflow planning and financial reporting. She has extensive experience in booking and recently completed her BA in Accounting from Baker College.
