Jim Frey, President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board Chair
Jim brings over 30 years of experience and innovation providing technical and strategic consulting in developing sustainable systems for a waste free future. His expertise in strategic planning, business economics and public policy support action-oriented decision making in all levels of the public and private sector agencies he supports. His work is backed by a team of engineering, management and communication specialists at Resource Recycling Systems that can help you position your organization for a sustainable future. His current focus is development of green supply chain infrastructure in both the public and private sectors through corporate sustainability initiatives, zero waste strategies and public/private partnerships.
Jim holds an MBA with High Distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, supports his community through extensive non-profit leadership work and enjoys camping, sailing and vacationing with his family.
JD Lindeberg, P.E. LEED AP, President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
JD has worked for 25 years with leading US non-profit and private institutions on green business planning, financial assessment and project management. JD’s extensive practical knowledge in biomass energy systems, capital project planning, design engineering, organics and “green” housing projects makes him invaluable to the RRS organization. He has pursued the development of environmental and sustainable technology through his involvement in the Environmental Capital Network and his own ventures into “green” home and resort construction. JD serves as the Chair on the Clean Energy Coalition, Managing Partner of the Co-housing Development Company and is a visiting faculty member at the University of Michigan, teaching sustainable economies.
JD holds an MPA (specialization in Domestic Policy Analysis) from Princeton University, an MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and a BA from Dartmouth College.
Nicole Chardoul, P.E., Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Nicole brings 15 years of operations management and engineering to RRS to serve as the Chief Manager of Operations and Human Resources. She is instrumental in all aspects of projects requiring engineering experience and is RRS’s leading project manager, construction manager and compost engineer. Nicole has extensive knowledge of engineering, pollution prevention, recycling and composting facility construction oversight as well as equipment and system procurement for all types of green projects. Nicole has trained compost site operators and managers on operational protocols and site design since 2000 and has served on local compost regulatory review committees to encourage composting and food diversion from the landfill. Her expertise in health care and university settings is vital to the RRS organization.
Nicole holds a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Martin Seaman, Director of Sales and Marketing
Marty brings a 20-year knowledge of county and municipal waste management systems to RRS. His years of firsthand experience developing and implementing sustainable recovery programs utilizing contracting, incentive techniques and community acceptance protocols, as well as industry innovations in e-scrap and other specialized waste streams, are of extreme value. He is an expert in resource contracting, cooperative problem solving and achieving economic benefits with environmental challenges and opportunities. Marty coordinates the integration of specialized web-based management tools into public and private sector installations with RRS collaborator ReTRAC – Emerge Systems.
Marty holds a BS in General Studies from the University of Michigan.
David Stead, Vice President and Senior Consultant
David brings to RRS 25 years of professional experience in environmental management and finance. He led the Environmental Capital Network for five years and was responsible for financing many of the major “green” companies. His background also includes the development of public policy related to the environment and analyzing the impact of environmental liability on the regulated community. David is an expert in planning and supply analysis studies that evaluate the market trends and availability of targeted recoverable commodities such as waste wood, paper, plastics and other materials. With skills ranging from technical analysis and project design, to communications and computer modeling, David provides clients with products that are both creative and technically sound.
David holds an MS in Natural Resources and an MS in Applied Economics, both from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado.
Anne Johnson, Vice President and Principal – Corporate Sustainability
Anne is an environmental engineer and scientist with more than 20 years of multi-disciplinary experience in applying science to improve the performance of products and business processes. She joined RRS from the non-profit GreenBlue where she was the Director of the internationally recognized Sustainable Packaging Coalition. During her eight years of leadership the SPC became the prominent voice on sustainability and packaging. Prior to that Anne applied her expertise on corporate sustainability strategy and sustainable product design at William McDonough’s consultancy, MBDC. Anne excels at making environmental and technical issues accessible to business audiences and bringing supply chain partners together in collaboration.
Anne holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College, an M.S. from the University of Arizona and an M.E. from the University of Virginia. She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Susan Graff, Vice President and Principal – Corporate Sustainability
Susan is an environmental scientist and sustainability practitioner with over 25 years of industry and government experience. Having begun her career at the U.S. EPA in environmental risk assessment and site remediation, Susan discovered a passion for helping companies improve business performance through proactive environmental approaches. In 1997 she founded ERS Global and led research and development to provide sustainability assessment, measurement and reporting frameworks for the Fortune 200.
Susan obtained her M.S. in Technology and Science Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology, and she holds a B.S. in Biology from Western Illinois University. She resides in Washington, D.C.
