staff_jimFreyJim Frey, President, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Jim brings over 30 years of expertise and innovation in recycling and waste management program development to both public services and private enterprises. He specializes in program review, evaluation and planning, goal setting, economic analysis of options, regulatory and organizational strategies and program/service recommendations. Jim serves on the Environmental Advisory Council for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and is the Chairperson on the Michigan Waste Reduction Advisory Committee and a member of SWANA technical committees on Waste Collection, Recycling and Waste Transfer. Along with his numerous non-profit leadership activities, Jim has received multiple industry accolades including the 2002 Michigan Recycling Coalition’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jim holds an MBA with High Distinction from the University of Michigan (specialization in Strategic Planning, Business Economics and Public Policy) and a BA in Philosophy from Grand Valley State University.

staff_JDLindebergJD Lindeberg, P.E. LEED AP, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
JD has worked for 25 years with leading US non-profit and private institutions on green business planning, financial assessment and project management. JD’s extensive practical knowledge in biomass energy systems, capital project planning, design engineering, organics and “green” housing projects makes him invaluable to the RRS organization. He has pursued the development of environmental and sustainable technology through his involvement in the Environmental Capital Network and his own ventures into “green” home and resort construction. JD serves as the Chair on the Clean Energy Coalition, Managing Partner of the Co-housing Development Company and is a visiting faculty member at the University of Michigan, teaching sustainable economies.

JD holds an MPA (specialization in Domestic Policy Analysis) from Princeton University, an MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and a BA from Dartmouth College.

staff_nicoleChardoulNicole Chardoul, P.E., Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer
Nicole brings 15 years of operations management and engineering to RRS to serve as the Chief Manager of Operations and Human Resources. She is instrumental in all aspects of projects requiring engineering experience and is RRS’s leading project manager, construction manager and compost engineer. Nicole has extensive knowledge of engineering, pollution prevention, recycling and composting facility construction oversight as well as equipment and system procurement for all types of green projects. Nicole has trained compost site operators and managers on operational protocols and site design since 2000 and has served on local compost regulatory review committees to encourage composting and food diversion from the landfill. Her expertise in health care and university settings is vital to the RRS organization.

Nicole holds a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan.

staff_martySeamanMartin Seaman, Vice President and Senior Consultant
Marty brings a 20-year knowledge of county and municipal waste management systems to RRS. His years of firsthand experience developing and implementing sustainable recovery programs utilizing contracting, incentive techniques and community acceptance protocols, as well as industry innovations in e-scrap and other specialized waste streams, are of extreme value. He is an expert in resource contracting, cooperative problem solving and achieving economic benefits with environmental challenges and opportunities. Marty coordinates the integration of specialized web-based management tools into public and private sector installations with RRS collaborator ReTRAC – Emerge Systems.

Marty holds a BS in General Studies from the University of Michigan.

staff_davidSteadDavid Stead, Vice President and Senior Consultant
David brings to RRS 25 years of professional experience in environmental management and finance. He led the Environmental Capital Network for five years and was responsible for financing many of the major “green” companies. His background also includes the development of public policy related to the environment and analyzing the impact of environmental liability on the regulated community. David is an expert in planning and supply analysis studies that evaluate the market trends and availability of targeted recoverable commodities such as waste wood, paper, plastics and other materials. With skills ranging from technical analysis and project design, to communications and computer modeling, David provides clients with products that are both creative and technically sound.

David holds an MS in Natural Resources and an MS in Applied Economics, both from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado.
