Enjoying a Recycling Renaissance at the MRC

Detroit, MI –After months of traveling to other states for conferences, RRS is pleased to be attending the Michigan Recycling Coalition’s (MRC) annual conference in our own backyard.  The “Recycling Renaissance” conference is being held at the beautiful Renaissance Center in Detroit Sunday May16th thru Wednesday May 19th.

Conference attendees will have a wide range of activities, plenary sessions and educational sessions from which to choose.  Top activities include a tour of the new Great Lakes Recycling single stream facility in New Boston, Michigan, tour of the Greater Detroit Resource Recovery Facility, Master Business Recycler training, Ford Rouge Plant tour and a good old Detroit Tigers baseball game.

As an annual sponsor of the Michigan Recycling Coalition, we were happy to team with them to make this year’s event successful.  RRS sponsored the Tiger baseball “Night at the Ballpark” where conference attendees mixed and mingled at a casual party at the ballpark before the big game.  RRS is also conducting three-hour training on “Reducing Healthcare’s Environmental Footprint Through Innovative Waste Management Solutions”.  During this session Principal Nicole Chardoul will talk about forming green teams and looking at advanced technologies to manage a wide variety of wastes.  Additionally Principal Marty Seaman will be giving a presentation about advancing our work the Carton Council during a plenary session.  The presentation will talk about our combined efforts to include carton and aseptic packaging into more curbside collection programs.  Lastly, RRS will be available to talk and showcase our wide range of services in the exhibit hall.

We are excited to once again support the efforts of the MRC and make this conference a success.  Please stop by and chat with RRS Principals Nicole Chardoul and Marty Seaman and staff members Anna Collinson and Liz Hughes while at the conference.
