Safety First!

Lansing, MI – We grow up hearing slow down, don’t run with scissors, look both ways before crossing the street, and don’t jump on the bed.  These messages of safety first stay ingrained within all of us throughout our lives and are just as important in the workplace.  Since 1929, the Michigan Safety Conference has held an annual conference with the goal of providing quality workplace safety training that all employees can afford.

The conference celebrates its 80thyear by offering for the first time certification in CPR and First Aid.  There are 17 different divisions to choose from including fire safety, health care, environmental management and public utilities.  As a part of the environmental management division, RRS consultant, Aaron Burman will present a break out session on “How Green is your Business or Town? Analysis of Environmental Benefits of Alternative Waste Management Techniques” on April 20th at 3:00 p.m.  During Aaron’s session, he will explain what “being green” means for your business and/or community and the benefits of alternative waste management techniques on the environment.

Burman says “Carbon is the language and soon the currency for the 21st Century. It’s important to understand all business operations in these terms, including waste management. Proper manager of work and other resources can turn a carbon liability into an asset.  “

Aaron will be joined by RRS Principal Marty Seaman and Health Care Consultants Maria Russo.  Maria has an extensive background in healthcare related resource and waste management including hazardous materials management.
