“Deep Economy” Author Visits Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor, MI— Resource Recycling Systems is proud to be a major sponsor of the Ecology Center’s annual fund raising reception and speech. The Ecology Center is a Michigan-based nonprofit environmental organization that works at the local, state, and national levels for clean production, healthy communities, environmental justice, and a sustainable future.
The event held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 featured noted author Bill McKibben who spoke about his newest book on the subject, Deep Economy. In the talk and the book, McKibben proposes an approach toward sustainability that focuses on the power of community. He extended his appreciation for the Ecology Center’s extensive work in the field and motivated others in the audience to do their parts as well.
The discussion touches on subjects that are a focus of RRS efforts and validates the hard work that our clients have undertaken as part of their projects.
RRS principal, J.D. Lindeberg, attended the event and says “We join with the Ecology Center, Mr. McKibben and our clients to encourage everyone to join us as we voyage toward sustainability in the second decade of the Twenty-first Century.”
