2012 Conference Season Has Begun – Enjoying Austin and the USCC

It’s the beginning of the 2012 conference season and RRS is gearing up for one fantastic year. We are pleased to announce that our annual debut will be at the United States Composting Council (USCC) Annual Conference & Tradeshow this week – the USCC is not only a wonderful organization, but one that is near and dear to our hearts. Nicole Chardoul and JD Lindeberg are both long-time members of the USCC and well-known throughout the industry for their dedication and excellence in the composting community.

Get to Know J.D. Lindeberg…

J.D. Lindeberg began working for RRS over 20 years ago specializing in green business planning, financial assessment and organics management. As J.D.’s career has expanded over the years, his extensive practical knowledge in biomass energy systems, capital project planning, design engineering, organics and “green” housing projects has blossomed. In addition to being the President of RRS, J.D. is a sought after expert in the biomass energy field well known for his project development, due diligence and feedstock analysis .

Recycling in Breckenridge, Colorado

It’s that time of the year again! Resource Recycling Systems and Carton Council are heading back to beautiful Colorado to sponsor and participate in the annual Colorado Association for Recycling “Summit for Recycling”.

RRS Trains Michigan Composters Today

The Michigan Recycling Coalition (MRC) is hosting their annual Michigan Compost Operator Training Program today, March 29 in the Surplus and Recycling Education Center at Michigan State University.  The training program is designed to provide managers and operators of large scale compost sites with information, tools and training needed to manage a successful operation in Michigan.

The program originally developed through a state grant by RRS for the MRC, has been ongoing through the State for over ten years by the MRC.  The program covers the basic biology of composting, marketing and financing end materials as well as composting rules/regulations and troubleshooting issues.  The training will focus on the State’s new rules and regulations as they relate to composting and all attendees will receive a training manual. Leading the Way for Biomass Energy

Resource Recycling Systems flexed its biomass muscle a bit this week at the Electric Utility Consultants training on Biomass for Fuels, Chemicals and Power in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

From March 21 to 22, forestry professionals, government agencies, utility executives, agribusiness professional, finance professionals and others met at the Hyatt Regency to learn from an array of leading experts how the sub-categories in biomass will mesh together to create one of the most dynamic new industries in North America. SWANA WasteCon Success

Boston, MA – Boston is known as the home of the Red Sox, the name sake of cream pie and baked beans, and for the historical site of events during the Revolutionary War like the Boston Tea Party and Paul Revere’s ride through the streets.  A city with such a rich history was the perfect place to host the 2010 SWANA WasteCon Conference and Exhibition.

WasteCon ran from Sunday August, 15, 2010 to Tuesday August 17, 2010.  WasteCon is a mega conference for waste and recycling professionals.  This year the conference hosted a long list of technical and educational break-out sessions, exhibit hall and a networking event at Fenway Park.  Read the whole story…

Compost Professionals Flock to Orlando for the Annual USCC Conference

Bill Would Allow Landfills to Brew Methane From Yard Clippings

Lansing, MI—It’s been a busy week in the Michigan capital as the House Energy and Technology Committee is debating a bill that would change the current yard waste landfill ban.  The proposed bill would allow landfills to collect yard clippings for methane gas energy harvesting purposes. Debate on both sides of this bill has been taking place this week.  Our very own JD Lindeberg (RRS Principal and CFO) added testimony in opposition to the bill adding support to the testimonies of Kerrin O’Brien (Michigan Recycling Coalition’s Executive Director), Gary Melow (Michigan Biomass Director), Ted Barrett (Mid-Michigan Recycling) and Fred Thompson (Indian Summer Recycling).   Read the whole story…
