Jim Frey, one of the founders of Resource Recycling Systems and current CEO, has devoted the last 30 years to resource management and waste reduction. His expertise in strategic planning, business economics and public policy has supported and propelled hundreds of public and private sector agencies over the years. As a well known expert and activist in the sustainability field, Jim continues to lead the “green” movement.
Currently he is focused on the development of green supply chain infrastructure in both the public and private sectors through corporate sustainability initiatives, zero waste strategies and public/private partnerships.
I sat down with Jim on December 15th to discuss some of the reasons why Jim entered this field and add some fun tidbits about his personality/life that he wanted to pass along. Below are some snippets from our conversation. Read the whole story…

Ann Arbor, MI – After an exciting Super Bowl game last Sunday, CBS aired a new show called Undercover Boss. Just as most of us at RRS were excited to see the Audi Green Police commercial, we were equally intrigued to see a behind scenes look at Waste Management, a company in which we cross paths with often. As many of us watched this episode, we could all relate with how many times upper management hasn’t understood the concerns, frustrations and hurdles the average employee has as they traverse to get their job done on a daily basis.
