Industries We Serve.
RRS works with public, private, and non-profit organizations, as well as collaborative initiatives that may involve several types of organizations. See, we started out working with cities and counties to establish recycling programs and to improve the sorting and processing of recovered materials. Over the course of 35+ years, we have engaged with the entire recovery value chain and recognize that every entity has a part to play in creating the quality of life we all want to live.
Government & Municipalities
Government can mean city, county, district, authority, state department, or federal agency. The government is a critical point of connection to services for residents. They must provide quality programs that benefit their residents while being economically sound. RRS strives to support those efforts through research, economic analyses, program planning, material recovery facility (MRF) support, gap analyses, feasibility studies, RFP support, and resident outreach/communications. Thus, enabling government entities to provide services that are beneficial to the environment, the economy, and the communities they serve.
Brands & Manufacturers
Private industry impacts the recovery value chai at several points including product design, consumer engagement, and material recovery. Today’s consumer expects companies to be an active participant in sustainability throughout the product and packaging lifecycle. RRS assists brands, manufacturers, processors, and other businesses in meeting these demands through design for recyclability/compostability, sustainability planning and tracking, supply chain assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
Product Stewardship & Packaging
Whether voluntary or regulated, manufacturers, brands, and retailers are taking on more responsibility in end-of-life management of materials they produce. RRS supports trade associations, pre-competitive collaborations, NGOs, EPR programs, and government entities in stewarding materials through group formation and facilitation, research and analysis, pilot testing, and planning and implementation of programs.
Retailers
Universities
As hubs of progressive and innovative activities, universities can employ environmental practices and position themselves as an attractive, cost-effective, sustainable campus to potential students, supporters, and surrounding communities. RRS assists universities in moving toward zero waste goals by creating and implementing plans for waste reduction, recycling, and organics recovery. That can be accomplished through research, site assessments, cost analysis, program planning, and outreach/education.
Hospitals & Healthcare
At the heart of any healthy community is a healthy hospital that cares as much about its environment, employees, and neighborhood, as it does its patients. RRS assists hospitals and health systems in minimizing waste generation, costs, and risks through sustainability program planning and management, policy development, compliance oversight, and training and education.
Haulers & MRFs
As essential components of recovery infrastructure, haulers and material recovery facilities (MRFs) must balance relationships from consumer to end market while operating efficiently and maximizing commodity value. RRS assists haulers and MRFs in optimizing their operations through route analysis, equipment assessment, MRF design, RFP response, contract assistance, and new material additions.
Organic Waste & Recovery
Food scraps, industrial organics, compostable packaging, or yard waste - organic waste can become a valuable resource when properly managed through waste prevention, donation, or recovery. RRS assists municipalities, product manufacturers, retailers, institutions, and others throughout the value chain to plan, process, and make decisions for better management of organic waste. From community and commercial/industrial programs to anaerobic digestion and biomass feasibility, RRS is ready to support your initiatives.
